Silo 2026

TV series, Graham Yost. 4.5 from 1 member.

Silo is a gripping, dystopian sci-fi series on Apple TV+ that follows the last 10,000 people on Earth living inside a massive, 144-story underground bunker. The residents are strictly taught that the outside world is a toxic, fatal wasteland, and they are forbidden from exploring their history before a major uprising wiped out all records 140 years prior. The story kicks off when the community's sheriff breaks a cardinal rule and residents begin dying under mysterious circumstances, prompting an independent, strong-willed engineer named Juliette Nichols (played by Rebecca Ferguson) to step up and investigate. As she pulls at the threads of a massive conspiracy driven by the silo's ruling factions, she uncovers forbidden relics and tech that reveal a terrifying truth: if the lies built into their society don't kill them, the reality of what's hidden beyond their walls just might.

Worth watching, Season 3 is slow but gets great towards the end

The vibe of this entire show is very cool and unique. The story is also pretty cool, though there are, of course, lots of other dystopian shows out there. Honestly, the cast is pretty excellent. Zahn and Robbins are in top form, I might even say Common is pretty good. Ferguson, the main, is excellent. I friggin hate Camille Sims, but I suppose that means she's a good actor... but maybe not.

I also like this show because it's based on books written by an older graphic designer like me, and they were his first books. I've talked to the guy (Hugh Howey) over Reddit, and he was super cool and gave me good advice. Writing fiction is what I have planned on doing in retirement since I was 16. I'm writing some stuff now because I don't know if I will ever retire. :)
